Travel and Accommodation

Delft, Vismarkt

For general information about Delft, the city’s history, and current events, visit the Delft city website.

To and from Schiphol Airport trains to Delft, The Hague, Rotterdam and Amsterdam are regularly available. Delft is easily commutable from The Hague, Rotterdam and Amsterdam on commuter lines as well. From The Hague Central Station to Delft Station is approximately 10 minutes, from Rotterdam is approximately 15 minutes, and Amsterdam approximately 60 minutes. In each case, plan to include a 20 min walk from the Delft Station to the conference venue at TU Delft. For more detailed information about and updates on train routes, schedules and prices please refer to the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) website.

The city of Delft is extremely walkable, taking only 10 minutes to cross by foot. Nevertheless, moving about the city is far easier by bike, and more practical than relying on the limited bus and tram network within the city. As such, we recommend looking into bike rental to ease the commute to and from the conference venue. Bikes are available for rental from the train station. If staying in Delft, many hotels will have bikes available for guest rental. There are also independent bike rental companies offering day rates for rentals. But be safe!

Recommendations for accommodation within reasonable walking and biking distance of the conference venue in Delft include:

Hotel Leeuwenbrug

Bridges House Hotel Delft

Hotel de Emauspoort

Hotel de Koophandel

Hotel Johannes Vermeer Delft

Best Western Museumhotels Delft

There is no university accommodation available for conference delegates, and hotel availability in Delft is both limited and in high demand. If no room can be found in Delft itself, we highly recommend looking for alternatives in The Hague.
